CHRISTMAS CRAZY
What the hell is it with people at the moment, everywhere I go, at the restaurant, shopping, even at cafés people are fucking mean and spiteful.

I mean, for example… last Saturday, fully booked restaurant, one customer didn’t get her glass of water, so she threw her plate of food at a waitress??? The same night a customer told a different waitress to go kill herself… WTF People?

I thought this was meant to be a time of compassion, love and joy, clearly not. If you are frustrated by the Xmas insanity, please be kind to one another, this is meant to be a joyous time, not one where you go completely off your rocking chair and kick a midget!!!

PoetryPlease GLASSHOUSE WINNER
Well, the inside the glasshouse contest is over, the winner of the competition was =yourpleasantdarkness it was well deserved, the entry was very good. I would suggest to all (if you care about such things) to check out his writing, there is a talented young writer in the making here.

=yourpleasantdarkness is primarily a fantasy prose writer, with short stories that draw you into the world’s he creates, with thick imagery and unique stylistic methodology attached to his creative abilities. =yourpleasantdarkness has an exciting future ahead and I know he has a bright career ahead of himself.

With that being said, this was the final competition held by =PoetryPlease. The club will now mutate into the joint poetry/prose uber-group #LITplease, this is an exciting time for the Lit community, many new groups have begun popping up, within the Lit-community this will be one of the leading groups for sure.

ARTIST FEATURES
OK, like all of us, I am far from perfect and in this case I really screwed up huge. While co-ordinating the Glasshouse Contest for =PoetryPlease I missed two entries while the judging was being conducted, it was an honest mistake though it doesn’t change the fact these two deviants could have actually won the contest or atleast placed highly.

So in a bid to make up for my stupidity I decided to feature these artists, the real joy of this decision is both deviants are actually very talented, which makes this all more the pleasure.

~Bexica
I have been witness to some extraordinary talents over the years, here is another example of serious natural talent, ~Bexica uses the world around her to create luscious visual recreations from the simplest of thoughts.

The true skill of a writer is to capture the simple, basic moments in life and make them extraordinary, making such moments not words on a page but visual delights that you see with the blink of eyes, that’s real skill and ~Bexica honestly has this ability, to write minimalism a very rare talent indeed to posses.

Again I find myself speaking of natural talent with ~kelseywatt93 though a different style of talent is displayed within her gallery of emotional manifestations. Using her emotions to the fullest of her advantage ~kelseywatt93 has this uncanny ability of evoking the most profound emotions out of situations.

I read a lot of poetry on deviantART and most is just very one dimensional, telling a story yet leaving it there, ~kelseywatt93’s unmistakable gifts lay squarely in her emotions, they are her primary tool and everything else involved in the story is actually secondary to the anguish or exhilaration she moulds for us all to experience.

To add, its easy to make a piece of poetry rhyme, its also easy to make some degree of sense when writing poetry, though to do both, to really capture the imagination of a reader will rhyming words and telling stories is not easy, ~kelseywatt93 gallery left me wanting more at every ending, I’m not easily impressed, with this artist I am beyond impressed, which has made me curious for more.

I know you might be thinking, hey, he screwed up and he is trying to make up for it with praise, that reaction really isn’t necessary, these are two very talented young writers, very different in styles yet equally talented in abilities. Please take some time to visit these extraordinarily talented individuals.


TRUE PRANKS
Over at camp [TB] True Blood, pranks are thick and fast on the set between actors though when actors start pulling crap on the writing staff, well that’s just unacceptable. Like any writer, our revenge will always be swift and lasting, especially against smart-ass prank pulling actors, in this case… Alex Skarsgård and Stephen Moyer.

After our little vampire pawns sent the entire writing, development, research and editing staff bottles of black ink filled TruBlood we had to act. So (with Alan Balls kind assistance) the script received a slight overnight alteration where Bill and Eric become deeply infatuated with each other, during the 18 takes (one for each member of the writing staff) we have Alex and Stephen… well make out! I was told Alan stretched the scene out for a long arse time.

Revenge is a dish best served… bloody passionately!!! Can’t wait for season 3 special DVD features… I’m told its hilarious!

Also, next week (thanks to Alan Ball) I will be posting 12 beautiful photos from TB season 2 that have never been posted online before this time. The photos are just beautiful and I am insanely excited to share them with the TB community here on dA.

ANNE RICE ’s TRUE BLOOD
Just to add for my own self-absorbed reasons, in a recent interview Anne Rice is asked about her views on True Blood and she admits to being a huge fan, now I already knew she loved the Stackhouse Novels though never got the opinion of the HBO network version, this is like an early Christmas present for me, it’s like the wisest prophet goddess giving approval of your hard work and efforts.

PRIDE and PREJUDICE and ZOMBIES and VLAD
RARELY… do I get involved with a project for free, though when Natty Portman asks you for a favour, its kind of hard to say no. For all you classic story/zombie tales Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is currently in pre-production through Natalie Portman’s production company, Natty will also be staring in the film as will some other exciting names which I am sworn on not to mention… Yet!

Also, which for me is the most awesome news I have ever posted here, Brad Pitt’s production company sent me a little message a few months ago, which simply said “you know Dracula, do you know much about his past? I remember scoffing at the screen when I read the message thinking it was a joke, sending back some basic information thinking it was a Halloween joke, that was until 13 days ago when my agent asked if I would join the project as a researcher.

Lets see, I get to research on the first ever motion picture about the history of Prince Vlad Thepes II before the incarnation of Dracula was labelled upon his name… and I get to work with Brad Pitt, such a tough decision to make, Hmm let me think???

From what I know it will be filmed in much the same style as Bram Stoker’s Dracula, if only Gary Oldman would join the film as Vlad Thepes… I think I just quivered with exhilaration.

Both films will not be hitting cinemas in 2011, who would have ever thought vampires could be so profitable? “What do you want to be when you grow up Shane? I want to be a vampire and demon researcher, ohhhhh, DON’T BE SILLY… that will never make you money…”

FINALLY…
Within the next 2 weeks all of you that have been MSN deprived of my company, I will be randomly online throughout the holiday period. Most of my writing jobs officially take a break as of Sunday for a month. Yes I will still be working though taking some time off also, to catch up with people in one way or another.

Plus it gives me time to get Xmas gifts finally, which I have been putting off for way too long.
