I am the depression of worlds.
Places in the unknown. Shadows.
Hiding away from time itself
Hidden in depths of crimson greys

In the audience of gods I witness
Flesh torn upon the shells of oysters
Oh… the horror of their apocalypse
As the walrus and apeman do battle

Dining with devils and demons
Within the equinox of Elysium
Stumbling upon volcanic stones
Pleading with my blistered hands

Words and whispers feeding savages
Yet still incapable to comprehend
All I can do is stare and weep at this
This scent of something so horribly true

The howling winds scream their plight
Though the leaves stand their ground
As ancient trees violently spit in two
Against the misery of this winters scour

To be totally honest, I have no idea where this one came from. I was answering a message & I was asked why I didn’t submit more writing, my answer was simply quality over quantity but it kind of provoked me to write something to prove a point to myself, that I was capable of writing quality at anytime I desired it, so yes, I guess this was the child of that reasoning.

This piece has a bit of a failed religion meets Alice In Wonderland overtone I feel. Again not of any reason, the first line… “I am the depression of worlds” popped into my head & I ran with it. I guess its kind of a miserable day in old Sydney town, so that will surely have some influence in this also.

The weather always plays an important character in a lot of my writing, mother nature, she is amazing! :)

Hope you like

It felt as though you were writing about the ancients. You know people of long ago. The old and wise. I think of the oldest trees and the knowledge they would have combined with people who experience a lot of upheaval and experience within their life when I say ancients.
The 'I' in this is the ancient.
