Literature Text

There is no need to talk
Not even a whisper
Gentlemen performers
breathless, motionless

Singular bleak threads
Hanging from bloodied masks
Overexposed and vulnerable
As a crowds roar dulls
Dissipate into the fresh night air
Perfect memories linger, at this
impromptu waltz's come days end
For the lights will not blind
your heavy practised eyes

…ever again

This a small dedication to Paul Gray of Slipknot, or as he was affectionately known (#2. The PiG)

This short piece I have written was a fond memory I have of Paul after their performance in Sydney back in 1999, Slipknot had just finished their set, almost every member of the group were injured in some way, as for Paul, I remember blood dripping from his mask under heavy panting from momentary exhaustion.

No words were spoken, just a look of admiration towards each member of his musical family.

Paul was a truly dedicated musician, friend and family man, I am at a loss this morning with the news of his death. As an artist I though this would be the most fitting way to pay some respect to someone that meant so much to so many people.

RIP PiG.

Beautiful poem... The ending is really moving. It's so sad :(
